Abstrait:

In times of economic austerity, especially in Spain, the footbridge bridge designing is a tough job, the administrations don’t allow any deviation in budget neither delays in planning. In this context the challenge is to design footbridges that accomplish its functional and structural purposes, but using the structural formalism to bring personality to the design without forgetting the environment integration. All to make an attractive structure according to the society demands. These points are shown in these works in progress selection of our office:

  1. Llobatona Footbridge in Viladecans, Barcelona. The construction is scheduled for the 2014. The structure are has a winding profile over the railway, there are two inclined warren trusses at each side of the deck and there isn’t any joint on the top side. The total length is 132 m and the main span is 36 m length.
  2. Footbridge over the road ring in Figueres, Girona. The detailed design is currently in progress. The footbridge is over C-260, placed in the industrial park area, in the entranceway of Figueres. The steel structure is a continuous beam with asymmetrical cross section. The structure is 188,8 m length, the maximum span is 25,5 m length and the deck is 3.94 m in the widest area.
