Abstrait:

While meeting strict seismic building codes, the Anaheim Arena offers all the features and comforts of a state-of-the-art sports facility. The facility, completed for a cost of USD 68 million, includes seating for up to 19,200 spectators, 2,700 luxury suites and club seats, and service areas for team, press, administrative and concession activities. The arena hosts professional hockey and was conceived to serve as a center for basketball and other sports activities and special events. The structure divides into three major components: the foundation system, the seating bowl superstructure and the long span roof system. Located in the severe seismic region of Southern California, all major components for the Anaheim Arena must safely withstand the motions and forces of the maximum credible seismic event, as well as experience the effects of the maximum probable seismic event with only minor damage.
