1868 | The Willamette Falls Canal and Locks Company is formed. |

1 January 1873 | The locks are opened. |
1915 | The lock system is sold by Portland General Electric to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for $375,000. |
1916 | The locks are deepend by 0.6 m. |
1941 | Electricity and hydraulics replace manual operation. The timber gates are replaced with steel ones. |
1974 | Placed on National Register of Historic Places. |
Notes
The Willamette Falls Locks are the first and oldest continually operating multi-lock system in the United States.
