Tom Miller Dam impounds Lake Austin.

The downstream side is the beginning of Lady Bird Lake. The City of Austin built the dam between 1938 and 1940 with funding help from the Public Works Administration. The Lower Colorado River Authority leases and operates the dam. The hydroelectric plant in the dam is capable of generating 17 megawatts of power.
