Abstract:

A consistent design model based on the lower bound theorem of the theory of plasticity is developed for reinforced concrete beams and columns of circular cross section. Stress fields are shown for an anchored retaining pile wall as well as for a pile wall under axial and lateral loading. The governing design equations at the ultimate limit state are given.
