Abstract:

Sandwich facades made of Textile Reinforced Concrete — numerical investigations and engineering models.

In part one of this paper [1], experimental investigations on sandwich facades have been presented. They are amended by non-linear FE-simulations to identify the influence of major parameters on the load-bearing behavior of sandwich sections. Based on the derived engineering models describing the load-bearing behavior of sandwich sections subjected to tensile, shear and bending forces, the model for bending has been supplemented by distributed loads and temperature loads for practical application. Further on, basic recommendations for the design of the sandwich action are stated.
