Abstract:

In the course of the renewal of an existing bridge a new structure has been erected. According to the prominent location above the motorway a construction with an imposing shape was planned. Due to the boundary conditions of subsoil with high flexibility in the upper soil layers, an integral bridge construction seemed to be the best solution. The composite superstructure is a steel framework with a reinforced concrete plate. The framework consists of a remarkable curved steel pipe with diagonals connecting the deck slab. The chosen structure allows a modern bridge construction with a total length of about 70 m without bearings and expansion joints.
