Abstract:

Injection grouting by various methods is of fundamental importance for the construction of pressure tunnels and demands corresponding attention from designers and also from contractors. Pressure tunnel for the sake of this article means the low-pressure sections of the water supply to hydropower stations upstream of the surge chamber with an internal pressure of up to approx. 200 m WS (20 bar). The article deals principally with grouting used with lining systems consisting of precast concrete segments. Specific aspects concerning the grouting of in-situ concrete linings, foils or steel liners are only included incidentally.
