Abstract:

Current research status and important issues of seismic analysis of spatial structures are summarized in this paper. The conceptual misunderstanding of traditional vibration modes truncation method is pointed out and its corresponding solution is proposed. The underlying problems of current methods for determination of damping ratios are revealed by summarization and comparison of current methods. Several key points in the adjustment of input earthquake waves are pointed out, and current research status of multi-dimension and multi- point earthquake wave input methods is investigated. The research progress of dynamic stability of spatial structures is summarized.

Research status and difference of performance based seismic design of spatial structures and multi- story structures are discussed.
