Abstract:

Combining with a subway station in construction, high strength bolt joint with slotted holes was proposed to improve the ductility of the rigid joint between reinforced concrete beam and concrete-filled steel tubular column. Two conventional welding joint specimens and two bolted joint with slotted holes specimens were designed and fabricated, a series of cycle loading tests were carried out in laboratory to research the bearing capacity and energy dissipation performance of the two kind of joints. Based on the results achieved in the tests, both the two kind of joints can satisfy the design bearing capacity requirement, and the bolted joint with slotted holes show a better ductility and energy dissipation performance compared with the conventional one.
