Abstract:

This contribution investigates the application of tools for optimization and probability assessment within the context of performance-based design of structural systems under seismic risk. In particular, a novel strategy for performing reliability-based optimization of steel frame structures is presented. An application example illustrates the advantages of the proposed approach.
