Abstract:

As part of the New Storstrøm bridge Project, an Independent Check of Category 3 is being carried out by the Joint Venture sbp-MGC-A&A. The great extension of the project requires a complete checking team covering a great number of disciplines, including structural and geotechnical bridge design, dynamic analysis under ship impact or special construction methods.

In addition to the Independent Check activities, the Joint Venture is responsible of the Validation tasks for Banedanmark. These include an exhaustive exam of the documentation to ensure the presence of background material as well as the traceability and consistency of drawings and reports.

In the present paper, some special aspects of the independent check and validation work of the combined road and railway as a multi-span and Cable Stayed bridge will be presented.
