Abstract:

A concrete filled steel tubular arch with corrugated steel webs consists of longitudinally oriented Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) chords connected by corrugated steel webs (CSW). To study its load-carrying capacity, experiments on two model arches were carried out. Further analyses on the behaviours of arches were then performed based on the test results. The finite element program is used to study the behaviors of CFST-CSW arches parametrically. Among the many factors which may have significant effects on the ultimate load-carrying capacities of CFST-CSW arches, the slenderness ratio, rise-to-span ratio, S/C ratio, grade of in-filled concrete and loading schemes in practical range were selected and studied parametrically. The study indicates that they have different effect on the ultimate load of CFST-CSW arch.
