Notes

The Eastern Channel Bridge is composed of a navigation span of 260m and 2 side spans of 130m. The deck is 30.2m wide (4 vehicle lanes) with transverse cross beams spaced at 4.90m and is supported on 2 High Damping Rubber Bearings (HDRBs) at the transition piers (P166 and P167). Pre-stress is introduced by post-tensioning to avoid tensile stress in the edge girder and cross beam. The stay cables which have Parallel Strand System are anchored in the edge girders and are supported by cable saddles installed on the towers. The towers curved A-shape legs with heights of 110.5m from the top of pile cap. The legs have a curved tapering ribbed section and are connected with infilled wall above the deck.
