Chronology

2002

The bridge is originally built as a double-leaf bascule bridge for road and rail traffic.

November 2007
— June 2008

Due to the reconfiguration of the Valencia Harbor, the harbor entrance is moved requiring the bridge to be moved as well. 95% of the bridge structure and 50% of the operating machinery are re-used during relocation of the bridge and reconfiguration to a swing bridge.

Notes

The bridge was originally built as a bascule bridge for use by a railway line. However, with the reconfiguration of the port for the America's Cup, the opening of the port that the bridge spanned was closed. The bridge was then moved to a different location at the new opening of the bassin and reconfigured as a swing bridge instead. It is used as part of the Formula 1 race track.
