| May 1908 | All major artists scheduled for the grand opening of the theater with Verdi's "Othello" decide to bail due to superstition as they don't want to be the first to perform in the opera house. Within 24 hours a reserve cast is organized to premier the house with Verdi's "Aida" instead. |
