This bridge replaces a 46 meter bascule span at the same location.
Corrosion prevention measures included metalizing the structural steel, placing micro silica concrete in the filled grating and using a calcium nitrate additive in the substructure concrete. The bridge control system is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system. Synchro-tie motors are used to control span and skew.
