The Pentagon

The Pentagon employs approximately 23,000 military and civilian personnel and is one the world's largest office buildings with three times the floor space of the Empire State Building in New York City (NYC). The Building was damaged on 09/11/2001 when five members of the Al-Qaida terrorist group hijacked American airlines flight 77, a Boeing 757-200 commercial jetliner and crashed the aircraft into the Pentagon Building, killing themselves and all 64 passenger on board.

A hijacked Boeing 757 slams into a section of the Pentagon in an apparent terrorist attack that also destroyed the World Trade Center in New York entirely and at roughly the same time.
11 June 2002

Ceremony marks the reconstruction of the façade of the Pentagon's damaged section. The interior structure is still being reconstructed.
